As MK Stalin led DMK government in Tamil Nadu is nearing to mark its first anniversary since coming to power, the state is preparing to witness the elevation of Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin as the stage is set for his political growth and he will be inducted in his father's administration as a cabinet minister. The party has been making the arrangements while the high command is in the discussion of a portfolio that will be awarded to the heir.
Udhayanidhi Stalin has currently been serving as the MLA from the iconic Chepauk-Triplicane constituency in Chennai besides holding the role as the DMK's Youth Wing Secretary. He is a first-time legislator and after a year of completing his tenure, the elevation is on the way for him in a hassle-free process. On Monday- May 2, Tamil Nadu has marked the first year since the election results of the 2021 assembly polls were announced and later this week, MK Stalin's regime will celebrate its first year.
The government will be organizing an event to celebrate the moment and following the celebrations of the first year, the ruling party will expedite the process of inducting Udhayanidhi Stalin into the ministry. According to IANS, chances are high at the junior Stalin will be inducted into the Tamil Nadu cabinet in June and the senior leaders are affirming that the actor-turned-politician will be a minister soon.
It has been reported that the discussions are on in the party to make the first-time MLA a minister. Speaking to IANS, Senior DMK leader and Rajya Sabha MP, RS Bharathi has said, "Udhayanidhi Stalin is a great crowd puller and demand has come across the state to make him a minister. It is for Chief Minister MK Stalin to take a decision and in all likelihood, he will be a minister soon."
The leaders close to the DMK seniors had said that the Chief Minister had already conducted discussions with his close associates like General Secretary S Durai Murugan, Treasurer and Lok Sabha MP TR Baalu, and RS Bharathi to elevate Udhayanidhi Stalin as a minister in the government. All the senior leaders had agreed and given their consent to MK Stalin to go ahead with the plan of making his son a minister.
While it has been reported that Udhayanidhi Stalin may swear in as the minister in the first week of June as the stage has been set, what's under discussion among the leaders was the possible portfolios that would be awarded to him. It's vivid that he will be given a powerful portfolio and the reports in the know had asserted that he will be made the School Education Minister, replacing his friend Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, who will be given another portfolio.
It has also been reported that Udhayanidhi Stalin may be appointed as the Minister of Municipal Administration. On the other hand, when his government is going to mark its first anniversary, MK Stalin has been mulling reshuffling his cabinet later this month and the seniors who are unhappy with their current portfolios hope that they will be awarded the prominent departments. With that hope, they are preparing to welcome Udhayanidhi Stalin into the cabinet.
