IPL 2020: Ro'hit' left the Knight riders to have a hard night! Top moments from MI vs KKR

When Rohit's army came to the battlefield to take on the knight riders, the two teams were hoping to have a breakthrough by opening its victory count in the current season. However, it was the hitman's day as the match wasn't as hard as Mumbai Indians thought, which eventually finished the match in style and got placed at the winning berth after having a lenient victory against the riders, who conceded the defeat by 49 runs.

The fifth match of the league was hosted by Abu Dhabi in its Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Wednesday and Kolkata Knight Riders had won the toss and let Mumbai bat first and from then on, Rohit's fleet controlled the game till the end. Though the Knight Riders are packed with a good bowling line-up, it couldn't help the team as Rohit Sharma had punished the riders by smashing 80 runs off 54 balls and cemented a strong partnership with Suryakumar Yadav and Saurabh Tiwary helped the team in putting a decent score on board.

In the end, Mumbai Indians put 195 runs on board by losing five wickets in 20 overs whereas some of the dangerous bowlers of Kolkata ended up having expensive overs. With the mammoth target, riders opened the innings only to have a back to back shock after openers Shubhman Gill (7 runs) and Sunil Narine (9 runs) had gone to the gallery soon following which skipper Dinesh Karthik and Nitish Rana tried to get the team on the victory track, and they were pushed to get 125 runs in the last ten overs.

Pat Cummins, Andre Russell, and Eoin Morgan had tried their level best to sail the team to the target. However, knight riders ended up scoring 146 runs in 20 overs by losing nine wickets and conceded the defeat by 49 runs as Mumbai Indians had registered their first victory in the league with Rohit Sharma was named as the player of the match. As the match had the mixtures of shocking and stylish plays, let's take look at some of the top moments.

Mumbai Indians were batting first. On the third ball of the 18th over, it was Hardik Pandya facing Andre Russell. Once the ball was bowled, everyone saw the stumps light up. No one had any clue about what has happened until Pandya started walking off. It was a HIT WICKET. Hardik could have easily added another 10 to 15 runs to the total of Mumbai Indians who eventually scored 195 runs.

Rohit Sharma has joined the league of players hitting 200 sixes in the IPL. He also became the batsman with most runs against a single team by scoring 904 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders. It was Rohit's day with the bat as well as the captain, as he scored a fantastic 80 runs and won the match for his team.

All eyes were on KKR's Pat Cummins since he is the most expensive overseas player bought in IPL 2020. Like his buying price, he was very expensive in his bowling giving away 49 runs in 3 overs. However, he displayed a cracker of a performance in his batting by scoring 33 runs off 12 deliveries that included 4 sixes. A brilliant cameo that went in vain.
