Is Divakaran sailing towards DMK? Here's how he spurred the fresh revolt!

V.K. Sasikala's brother Divakaran is likely getting closer towards DMK's shore after he hailed DMK's President by acclaiming that Stalin is the next Chief Minister of the state succeeding ADMK's Edappadi Palaniswami who was proposed for the Chief ministerial post by then ADMK General Secretary Sasikala, after the demise of Jayalalithaa.

By igniting the fresh revolt to the current ruling government, Divakaran said that he would be upholding Dravidian ideology. He was speaking at a wedding ceremony of Thanjavur DMK MP Palanimanickam's family on Thursday and it was also attended by DMK Chief and State Opposition Leader Stalin. In his address, Divakaran avowed that Stalin is the leader of opposition today and he will be the Chief Minister tomorrow. He stated that the current situation in Tamil Nadu is getting worse and the state people are reportedly been treated as second-class citizens.

By referring to Rajinikanth on his recent Periyar speech, Sasikala's brother said that someone from Karnataka has now become bold enough to speak against Periyar and cited that beyond the party lines, Tamil Nadu and Tamil people must be the primary concern and proclaimed that Stalin is the only leader who can protect the people and he must be supported by everyone. After airing his assertion that was apparently against the ruling ADMK party, Divakaran said that the DMK party could have swept about 85% of the seats in the recently concluded elections if the party leaders were attentive.

DMK President Stalin, who took the podium after Divakaran, said that the party would have secured 90% of the elections if the polls were conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner and he underlined that then BJP's leader Arasakumar had joined DMK after he hailed him in a similar wedding ceremony and added that he was not sure whether Divakaran would be the next to join the DMK.

After the dais that had brought the former rivals together which had mounted high anticipations that Divakaran would be sailing his ship to DMK's shore while the ADMK has barely left with one year for assembly polls and at the high time that Sasikala is nearing to complete her imprisonment, the ruling party had said that this was the reason why the party leadership removed Sasikala from the party. Addressing the reporters after Divakaran's statements, ADMK spokesperson and senior minister Jayakumar said that the Sasikala family always has a link with DMK and they have always observed a soft corner towards the opposition party.
