The shocking report that was released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) had revealed that Chennai is among the riskiest Indian cities that will be quaked with severe floods and catastrophes due to unprecedented ice melting of Himalayan glaciers where these cities would inevitably encounter the deviant rise in its water level by the end of the century that had ultimately pictured that the coastal cities which are in the peak of developments would drastically be watered.
It had stated that Kolkata, Mumbai and Surat are the other Indian coastal cities along with Chennai that have been painted with alarming tone of disaster while the parts of North India would ought to witness series water crisis and scarcity. The global report had alarmed the world that the sea levels have been rising dramatically than ever before, that would severely affect about 1.4 billion people across the planet.
The reports had mounted shock waves for the cities of charming waves where it had listed that these four Indian cities are among 45 global cities that are in the verge of witnessing devastating floods even if the water level rise by 50 cms that would increase the possibilities of extinction of small islands and cities surrounded by waters.
Although the report was released in Monaco, it had left with life threatening impact across the globe that, for yet another time, had demanded the world to unleash urgent action without no further delays to barricade the pace of global warming, that would possess huge danger not only for the cities but also for the marine lives as the heatwaves of the oceanic waters have been reportedly doubled since 1982 and further cited that the rise of global warming, in one hand heats up the water and on the other hand, drastically melts the ice in the glaciers.
The report published by the UN climate change body had flagged the fear and uncertainty for the cities where it had furnished that the oceanic water levels will unprecedentedly rise if humans fail to lower the emission of Green house gases that will oil the rise of global warming.
While speaking about the observations for India, the co author of IPCC Anjal Prakash had stated that about 240 million people living under the footsteps of entire Himalayan regions including Central, South and Inner areas of Asia would be facing devastation if the current trend prevails and added that the global countries should come together towards flagging adaption policies of hunting the ways to tackle the fearful catastrophes through proposing policy changes to built the infrastructure that will barricade the cities from the hands of extinction.
