After picturing successful maiden overseas tour to the British capital, the Chief minister of Tamilnadu Edappadi Palaniswami had proclaimed that the state of Tamilnadu will soon flag the air ambulance services across the state as part of enhancing the standards of healthcare in Tamilnadu to treat the injured and the victims in faraway places at right time with right treatment.
In the middle of touring the King's college hospital in London on Friday, he said that the state is looking to build the grounds of possibilities to launch similar air ambulance services which has been functioning in London.
He further stated that the state of Tamilnadu has been accounting for high incidence and death tolls of road accidents and added that the patients with severe injuries are often brought to the hospitals from faraway places which will cause delay in giving timely treatment and said that the state government will set up air ambulance which will resemble the services in King's hospital. The reports say that the government will look out for the possibilities to launch the choppers to pick up the victims from faraway places to transport them to the tertiary care centers and facilities that are at least 200 to 300 kms.
Edappadi Palaniswami is on his maiden foreign visit as the Chief minister and he landed in London two days back along with the state health minister Vijayabaskar and the health secretary where he held talks with London health and medical experts and institutions to attract knowledge and investments for Tamilnadu to enhance and upgrade the healthcare sector in the state.
The state delegation had signed various agreements and MoUs in front of the Chief minister where the state had singed MoUs with International Skill Development Corporation in London, with the London school of Hygiene and Tropical medicine to counter and tackle the epidemics like Dengue and Malaria, which had accounted for claiming thousands of lives in the state and with King's college hospital to establish its branches and setting up the air ambulance services in the state.
After wrapping up his British tour, he will be visiting the United States and Arab Emirates before returning to Chennai on September 10th, 2019.
