Vetrimaaran, the master storyteller of Tamil cinema, is on a roll with multiple projects lined up for the next few years. The National Award-winning director, who is known for his realistic and hard-hitting films, has a busy schedule ahead of him, with some of the most anticipated movies in the industry.

As Adhik Ravichandran of Mark Antony fame, to helm Ajith's next AK63 is confirmed, according to the film insiders' sources, the star actor is likely to collaborate with the acclaimed director Vetrimaaran for a movie, which could be his 64th film. Vetrimaaran has narrated a subject to Ajithkumar, and the producer Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment is interested in backing the project.

Elred Kumar is currently producing Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai and was supposed to produce Ajithkumar’s 63rd film, but it was later shifted to Mythri Movie Makers. The fans of both are eagerly waiting for the official confirmation of this exciting combination, which could happen before or after Vetrimaaran’s Vaadi Vaasal.

The director is currently working on Viduthalai Part 2, a film based on the short story ‘Thunaivan’ by Jeyamohan, which revolves around a police officer and a fugitive. The film stars Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles and is expected to release in early 2024. Viduthalai is produced by Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment, who is also said to be producing Vetrimaaran’s next film with Ajithkumar.

Vetrimaaran’s next big project is Vaadivaasal, a film adaptation of the novel by C.S. Chellappa, which deals with the ancient sport of jallikattu. The film will feature Suriya in the lead role. Vaadivaasal is produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu of V Creations.

Another project that Vetrimaaran has in his pipeline is Vada Chennai 2, the sequel to his 2018 gangster epic Vada Chennai, which starred Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Andrea Jeremiah. The film, which was planned as a trilogy, will continue the story of Anbu, a carrom player who gets involved in the underworld. Vada Chennai 2 is produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films, and will have the same cast and crew as the first part.
